For people who use the Glasp & YouTube Summary extension

We sincerely apologize for the problem that prevents fetching YouTube transcripts.

Since this was the biggest issue we’ve ever encountered, we’ve fixed it and submitted a new version to the Chrome Web Store. It’s currently under review, so please bear with us until the updated version is released.

🚨 What happened?

We ran into the biggest issue we’ve ever faced, which prevented transcripts & summaries from loading correctly.

✅ What we’ve done

The fix is complete, and a new version has been submitted to the Chrome Web Store. It’s now under review and should be live soon.

⏳ In the meantime

  • If your video is set to Private or Unlisted, our transcript & summary features would continue to work—consider switching your video privacy as a temporary workaround.
  • You can also retrieve transcripts directly via YouTube’s “Show Transcript” option in the description menu. (Check out the “Ongoing Issues” section in our status guide: Glasp & YouTube Summary Extension Status.)
  • If you have an audio file, you can upload it to Glasp and get a transcript. Please visit this guide.
  • Contact us with the links to the YouTube videos you want transcripts. We may have it.

🙏 We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience, and thank you for your patience. We’ll let you know as soon as the updated version is available!
