How to Export Your Pocket Highlights & Notes (A Guide for Fellow Fans)

Like so many in the Pocket community, I was truly saddened by the news that Pocket is shutting down on July 8, 2025. Pocket has been my go-to for saving and reflecting on great articles for almost a decade. If you’re reading this, you probably have years of highlights, notes, and memories you don’t want to lose.

Here’s a practical guide to help you export all your Pocket highlights and notes—and show you how to import them to Glasp, so your learning journey can continue without interruption.

Step 1: Export Your Data from Pocket

1. Mark Your Calendar

  • July 8, 2025: Pocket shuts down, switches to export-only mode.
  • October 8, 2025: Last day to export your data before it’s permanently deleted.

2. Export Your Pocket Data

  • Log in to your Pocket account.
  • Go to the official Pocket Export Page.
  • Download your data as an HTML file (includes saved articles, highlights, notes, tags, and favorites).
