How to Use the Ask Digital Me Feature on Glasp

Glasp released a new feature to see your digital clone(twin) by AI. Glasp’s digital twin allows you to ask our users’ AI questions about their profession and interests. It replies to your questions by generating the answer from their highlights.

If you haven't signed up for Glasp or installed the Glasp browser extension, please do so. You can refer to this tutorial.

Step 1: Go to the Home page on Glasp

Once you’ve installed your Glasp extension, go to its home page. Here, you will see the sidebar opened where you can test highlighting words or sentences. So, please click the Home icon on the sidebar.

Also, you are free to choose your favorite topics. Choosing your topics could be a leap step as this will help you identify the articles in line with your interests.

If you’re new to Glasp and don’t have enough highlights, please skip to Step 4.

Step 2: Go to the My Highlights page

You can go to the My Highlights page through the top bar. And you see the Ask Digital Me button at the top left of your profile page. So, please click it. It takes you to the digital twin page.

Step 3: Open the Ask Digital Me page

Below is the digital twin page. You can ask anything here. Please type your question in the search bar.

For example, I typed “What is product management? in the search bar. It generates an answer from your highlights.

As you can see, it responds summary of your question and lists the sources such as highlights and links to the article. So, you can open the original article to check.

If you ask a question that you haven’t highlighted yet or a random question, it takes you to Kazuki’s or Kei’s digital twin because he has much more content on Glasp.

Step 4: See others’ digital twins

If you haven’t highlighted any content or are interested in others’ digital twins, you can go see it. To do that, you can search for users through the search bar or click on someone showing up.

Below is Kazuki’s profile page, so please click Ask at the top left and go to his digital twin page.

You can ask him any questions you want. His digital twin can reply to your questions as long as he has highlighted some content related to your question.

Step 5: Hide your digital twin (Optional)

As our current digital twin uses public highlights, the answers from digital twin are similar to what you have highlighted before. But we understand that some people don’t want to show their digital twin, so we’re providing a way to hide your digital twin. Once you hide it, your digital twin is not visible to anyone.

To do that, please visit your digital twin page. At the top right, you see Setting, so please click it. In the Digital Model section, there is a check box. So, please uncheck Visible in Public. Once you have done it, your digital model is not visible.

Note:

  • We’re not offering a digital twin for reserved accounts.
  • If you haven’t highlighted any content, you cannot use the digital twin.
